Truck Driver Killed in A Two-Vehicle Accident

On Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2019, a two-vehicle accident on Dumas Drive and Willow Creek Avenue killed one man.

According to the police, Ismael Espinosa-Cabrera, 45-years-old, was driving a 2007 International tractor southbound on Dumas Drive when he ran through a stop sign. Espinosa-Cabrera hit Kenneth Richard Evenson, 67-years-old, who was driving a 1993 Jeep Wrangler westbound on Willow Creek.

Evenson died at the scene as a result of his injuries. The accident is under investigation.

Two People Injured in An Accident with A Semi-Truck

An accident on FM 1541 and Claude Highway involved a semi-truck and a regular size motor vehicle. According to ABC 7 News, “The car pulled out of a parking lot in front of the truck, which was headed northbound on FM 1541.”

Two people in the vehicle sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Distracted Driving Caused Multiple-Vehicle Accident on Highway 287

An accident on Highway 287 near FM 1912 southbound involved multiple vehicles. The collision was caused by distracted driving. ABC 7 News reported, “The driver of the black truck reached down to pick up his phone and ran into the back of a semi headed southeast on U.S. 287.”

Thankfully, no life-threatening injuries occurred.

Two-Vehicle Crash Killed 34-Year-Old Woman on U.S. 60

Laura Hernandez-Cervantes, 34-years-old, was driving a 2006 Ford pickup on U.S. 60 when the collision occurred. Based on the article posted by ABC 7 News, “The preliminary investigation indicates Hernandez-Cervantes tried to make a left turn from the outside lane into the center median crossover, and crossed the path of the Freightliner.”

Cary Shoults, 56-years-old, was driving the Freightliner tractor-trailer westbound in the inside lane on U.S. 60 when she hit the driver’s side of the Ford pickup. Hernandez-Cervantes died at the scene. Shoults did not suffer any injuries.

The accident remains under investigation, according to the Department of Public Safety.  

Pedestrian Accident on Wolflin Avenue Is Under Investigation

A man was killed on Wolflin Avenue close to Tascosa High School. He was walking southbound across Wolflin when he was hit by a car that was traveling westbound.

The man suffered life-threatening injuries. The accident is currently under investigation.
