Jeff Tormey
Attorney at Law
Jeff Tormey grew up on a dairy farm in Madison, Wisconsin. From the age of 12, Jeff has always wanted to practice law. He moved to Texas and made this goal a reality after receiving his law degree from Texas Tech University Law School. While attending Texas Tech, Jeff competed with a partner in the American Bar Association’s Negotiations competition, where his team placed 4th out of 130 teams. He was admitted to the Texas Bar in 1995.
In 2002, Jeff obtained his certification from the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in the area of Personal Injury Law. Jeff’s first job was in the personal injury field, and he has since had a passion for this particular area of the law. In addition to helping people, Jeff enjoys the complexity of these types of cases and considers fighting for what his clients deserve to be the most rewarding part of his career.
Jeff is a managing partner at Tormey & McConnell and has nearly 25 years of experience representing injured victims and their families in Amarillo. Jeff and his support staff at Tormey & McConnell are active in the Amarillo community and treat every client that walks through their door like family. When it comes to handling cases, honesty and dependable communication are two of the most important values to Jeff. He consistently takes his clients’ best interests to heart and is willing to go the extra mile to seek justice on their behalf.
Outside of practicing law, Jeff has held leadership roles in Amarillo Youth Choirs, Trinity Lutheran Church, Friends of NRA, Cub Scouts, and Kids Inc. Shooting and hunting have been a passion all his life- his parents met at an ammunition factory. Jeff has taken numerous advanced firearms training courses from instructors including Clint Smith, Louis Awerbuck, and Tom Givens among others. He has served on the Board of the Amarillo Rifle and Pistol Club for over 20 years.
Obtaining your justice is what motivates me to work hard.
